Summary
On April 8th, 7-Eleven issued a press release announcing its first ever Bring-Your-Own-Cup Slurpee® Day. The international chain of convenience stores is inviting consumers to bring their “carafes, beakers, goblets, jars, or anything else that could even remotely be considered a cup” to their neighborhood 7-Eleven store this Saturday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. and fill them up with the Slurpee flavor of their choice. The frozen drinks will cost just $1.49, the same price as a medium Slurpee, regardless of the size of the consumer’s container. The “cup” must be able to sit upright and fit through a 10-inch diameter in-store display.
On this new wacky promotion, 7-Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation Laura Gordon said, “Slurpee is all about having fun, and what better way to celebrate warmer weather than by filling your favorite cup with your favorite beverage?" said Laura Gordon, 7-Eleven vice president of marketing and brand innovation. "From sand buckets to trophies, customers can unleash their creativity by bringing in their choice of a unique, fun Slurpee cup."
