Summary:
On January 22nd,
Friskies issued a press release to BusinessWire announcing that it would be
featuring a Super Bowl ad this year in partnership with BuzzFeed. The ad is
entitled, “A Cat’s ‘Survival Guide’ for the Big Game” and is the latest
installment in the “Dear Kitten” series, which has been an ongoing partnership
between the two companies.
The ad will only
air in local markets with cat-themed names: Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Los
Gatos, California and Pawnee, Nebraska. A sneak-peak of the ad can be seen on
the YouTube channels of both Friskies and BuzzFeed.
This is not only
a strategically written press release, but also one that conveys tactics clearly
and with an underlying strategy and audience in mind.
